Neuroscience, Consciousness and Human Nature

January 23 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

Gualtiero Piccinini will offer some philosophical reflections on what we might be able to infer about human nature from the neuroscience of consciousness. He will discuss the relationship between mind and brain, whether the mind makes a difference in the world, whether we have free will and moral responsibility, and whether there is an afterlife.

Due to the spike in infections caused by the Omicron variant of COVID-19, we will be meeting virtually only until at least Jan 30th. The building will be closed on Sunday.

  • Platform will start at 10 a.m. on Altar Live. You can join our virtual community here.
  • The Ethical Society will be closed on Sunday Jan 9, 16, and 23.
  • Sunday Ethical Education for Kids (SEEK) will be offering virtual activities.
  • Discussion will be held after Platform on Altar.

We will continue to monitor the infection rates in the area and hope to reopen as soon as it is safe and responsible to do so.
