History of Iran with Mory Mani

June 2 @ 9:45 am - 10:45 am

In this brief history of Iran over the past 2500 years, key periods will be highlighted to provide an understanding of the people of Iran, how Iran became a Moslem country, particularly a Shiite sect, and how it arrived at its present state. This presentation will include examples of art, history, and historical places.

Mory Mani was born in Iran; he moved to the US in 1973, right after high school. He completed undergraduate and graduate studies in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. Mory worked for four years at NASA Langley Research Center before joining the Boeing Company in 1988. He worked at Boeing Research & Technology, providing computational fluid dynamics technology, and participating in aerodynamics problem resolutions to all three divisions of Boeing: Commercial, Space, and Military. He remained there until his retirement in December of 2020. Mory now works part-time with a couple of universities, and is enjoying traveling and visiting his kids and grandkids in Washington, DC, and Cambridge, MA.
