Great Books Group

January 11 @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm

The Great Books Group will meet monthly to discuss selections in the Counterparts anthology. This book can be purchased from the Great Books Foundation. From the cover: “The ten paired texts in Counterparts will challenge your assumptions and spark debate. Presenting bold perspectives on topics such as art, war, fidelity, and death, Counterparts raises questions that go to the heart of the human condition.” Our discussion group will next meet on Wednesday, January 11, at 7:30 p.m. in the Hanke Room with a connection via Zoom available. We will talk about two selections, authored by George Eliot and Oscar Wilde, on the subject of art. These are on pages 139–166 in Counterparts. All are welcome to join the group for any number of our sessions. Contact is Alan Easton at ameast89@yahoo.com.
