The Great Books reading and discussion group will reconvene on Wednesday, October 12, at 7:30 p.m. We will meet in person in the Hanke Room with a Zoom option. Our regular meetings will be held on the second Wednesday, monthly, through May 2023.

We will take selections from an anthology titled Counterparts which can be purchased from the Great Books Foundation. From the cover: “The ten paired texts in Counterparts will challenge your assumptions and spark debate. Presenting bold perspectives on topics such as art, war, fidelity, and death, Counterparts raises questions that go to the heart of the human condition.”

At its October meeting, the group will discuss two selections on Aspiration: one by Walt Whitman and the other by Daniel Fuchs. These are on pages 41-71 of the anthology.
