Great Books Discussion Group

December 14, 2022 @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm

HistoryBooks

The Great Books reading and discussion group will next come together on Wednesday, December 14, at 7:30 p.m. We will meet in person in the Hanke Room with a Zoom option. Our regular meetings will be held monthly on the second Wednesday, through May 2023. We will take selections from an anthology titled Counterparts which can be purchased from the Great Books Foundation. From the cover: “The ten paired texts in Counterparts will challenge your assumptions and spark debate. Presenting bold perspectives on topics such as art, war, fidelity, and death, Counterparts raises questions that go to the heart of the human condition.” At its December meeting the group will discuss two selections on fidelity by Philip Larkin and Amy Bloom on pages 113 – 166 of Counterparts. All are welcome to join the group for any number of our sessions. Contact is Alan Easton at ameast89@yahoo.com.
