Great Books Discussion Group

September 8, 2021 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

850x600GreatBooks12-2018

Our Great Books Discussion Group at the Ethical Society meets once a month on second Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m. This year we will read selections from an anthology called Keeping Things Whole: Readings in Environmental Science. This anthology is available for purchase for $24.95 from the Great Books Foundation. Authors include René Descartes, Henry David Thoreau, Barry Commoner and Bill McKibben.

Those of us who have participated in the Ethical Society Great Books Discussion Group would love to have more folks join us. We are not experts, but our group can sure fill an hour and a half with good conversation! We will assemble in person at the Ethical Society in the Hanke Room with Zoom option available (meeting ID: 384 422 5785). Our next meeting will be Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at 7:30 p.m. We will discuss two selections: Water Songs by Terry Tempest Williams, pp. 241-250; and The Politics of Wilderness and the Practice of the Wild by R. Edward Grumbine, pp. 251- 262. Please direct questions to Alan Easton ameast89@yahoo.com.
