On September 11, the Ethicyclists will have our fifth ride of the season from Kirkwood to St. Louis City back to Kirkwood via two Greenway Trails. We will meet at the Kirkwood Community Center parking lot at 111 S. Geyer Rd. 63122 at 8:45 a.m. and leave promptly at 9 a.m.
We’ll be cycling through Kirkwood, Glendale, and Webster en route to the Des Peres Greenway, and then into StL City and over the bridge to Grant’s Trail. The two trails are part of the Great Rivers Greenway which has a network of exercise trails throughout the StL Metropolitan area. They are well maintained, marked, and safe for all types of activities.
This ride is fairly flat with a nice downhill stretch to the Des Peres Greenway Trail. The ride is 22 miles with an optional lunch in downtown Kirkwood afterward. Don’t forget to bring the usual – extra tube, helmet, sunscreen, sunglasses, water, and money. We will try to have lunch outside for safety reasons, but bring a mask if we end up inside due to weather or availability. Contact Joe Corrigan at 314-753-5538 or David Brown at 314-696-8183 for more information. Rain/heat date is Saturday, September 25th.
