On Saturday, September 10, the Ethicyclists will be doing our sixth ride of the season in Madison County, Illinois. It’s been six years since we have been on this trail system, so it will be a joy to explore about 25 miles of this network in the Metro East.

Starting from the Collinsville trailhead, we will bike to beautiful Horseshoe Lake and then past Pontoon Beach, Glen Carbon, maybe Edwardsville, and finally Maryville before returning to Collinsville and Culver’s Restaurant for lunch. The asphalt trails are well maintained, 98% flat, and have an equal amount of sunny and shady spots.

We will meet at 9 a.m. and leave promptly at 9:15 a.m. from the Collinsville MEPRED trailhead at 104 United Drive, Collinsville, IL 62234. Don’t forget the usual: helmet, extra tire tube, sunscreen, water, snack, and money for lunch.
