Rainscaping and Stormwater Management – CAN! event

April 14 @ 9:45 am - 10:45 am

Water garden catching runoff.

Spring is upon us, and along with much anticipated signs, like green shoots and leaves, colorful and sweet-smelling blossoms, longer and warmer days, we are likely to experience stormwater issues.  Lately, the issue has been its lack—drought—but we’re just as likely to have to contend with flooding.

Our April Climate Action Now! speaker, Jenna Jarvis, is the Green Infrastructure Manager at Metropolitan Sewer District.  She manages the grant reimbursement program, which encourages people to use rainscaping as a positive and beautiful way to address stormwater management.  She’ll speak to us about the whats, whys and hows of rainscaping as well as other ways we can deal with stormwater on our own properties (or shared spaces) and why it is very important to do.  Please join us for this timely program and invite your friends to come along.
