A CAN! Opportunity for Meaningful Service

May 11 @ 8:30 am - 11:30 am

On May 11, the CAN! Team invites members and friends to join together to spruce up the grounds of Greenwood Cemetery in preparation for Mother’s Day. The work session will run from approximately 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and will involve plant trimming and weeding. Historic Greenwood Cemetery was the first commercial non-sectarian cemetery for African Americans in St. Louis. Over 50,000 people are buried there, including Harriet Robinson Scott, wife of Dred Scott. The cemetery grounds suffered a period of neglect but are currently being restored through the efforts of the Greenwood Cemetery Preservation Association and its many volunteers. If you’re interested, RSVP to CANethicalstl@gmail.com so that we can provide you with the necessary details closer to the date.
