Outings
September 25-27: Cabin Camping in the Ozarks
We have 4-5 families who are planning to go to a cabin in the Ozarks that was donated to us by Joe Corrigan for the weekend. Some families are arriving Friday evening, and some are arriving Saturday morning. The general plan is to spend Saturday in and around the cabin (tubing on the river, playing in and around the cabin, etc.), and then explore the area on Sunday before heading home (options include Montauk State ParkDevil’s Well (an underground lake) in Ozark National Scenic Riverways (a possible opportunity to earn Junior Ranger badges)).

Further details about maps, food, activities, etc. will be discussed with the families who have RSVP’d.

If you had not previously RSVP’d and want to go, please let us know.

October 17: Biking in Forest Park
We have initial plans for a biking outing in Forest Park, possibly including bike games in a parking lot and a picnic lunch. Further details haven’t been set. Andy Ford is organizing this event. We will also consider bad-weather backup options.

November 7: Puppet Theater
We have initial plans to attend Bob Kramer’s Marionnettes and then go to a member family’s house for a service project for Winter Outreach. Further details haven’t been set, but information about the donation drive for Winter Outreach will come out soon. Haley Pepper is organizing the theater part of the event, and Mel Johnson is organizing the service project.

General Meetings

September 20
Mr. Crawford led us in a lesson on making puppets to explore different emotions. The Navigators were each given an emotion to consider (Scared, excited, sad, etc.), and then they were given supplies to make puppets out of paper bags and crafts to demonstrate those emotions. We saw lots of creativity and lots of interesting emotions from the puppets. Thanks to the SEEK leaders for providing supplies.

Some pictures are available on Facebook.
