October 29 Add-On: Canoe-N-Boo
Put on your Halloween costume and come join a FREE day of fun outdoors at the Lincoln Shields Recreation Area in West Alton, Missouri.

All attendees will enjoy geocaching, hiking, living history of the area, bird watching, water safety, and paddling a 24 foot Voyageur canoe.

The Canoemobile traveling environmental program aims to engage people in outdoor experiences, enhances learning opportunities, cultivates a stewardship ethic, and creates pathways to pursue career opportunities in the outdoors. The Canoemobile’s focus brings environmental literacy to youth and adults, people with disabilities, and community members through experiences in their local public lands and waterways.

All training and supplies will be available upon arrival to prepare participants for an exciting experience on the waterways. No registration or experience necessary. The event is located at Lincoln Shields Recreation Area, 14701 US 67, West Alton, MO 63368. For event information please call 314-655-1614 or look at the Facebook event.

Reminder: An add-on is an event that some families in Navigators might attend, but not an event for which we are having a formal presence. If you know of other events that might be fun for Navigators, please let us know, and we will advertise them and add them to our calendar.

November 5: TV/Radio Station
Two of our parents work at a local TV Station and a Radio station. They are arranging for us to visit the media companies on the morning on November 5 to watch a News program and record a PSA.

Please see the flyer for more details.

General Meetings
November 20
Our November General Meeting will be at 9:45 am on November 20 at the Ethical Society. We will have some lessons on ham radio and Morse Code

2017 Navigators Planning Meeting
As we approach the end of the year, it’s time to lay out our plans for next year. We’ve created an online survey to find a time for having this meeting. Please respond on the poll if you are interested in participating in this meeting. These meetings usually take about 3-4 hours, as we talk strategy, organization, and outing ideas for the upcoming year.

Additionally, if you are interested in becoming a Chapter leader/Council member in 2017, please email to let us know in addition to responding to the poll.

New Hats and Bandanas Available
Navigators USA has released new caps, bandanas, and hoorags. You can see one of the new hats in action this morning in this photo. If you are interested in these, please let Haley Pepper know, because she will be placing an order soon.

November Council Meeting
Our next Council meeting is scheduled for 9:30 am on November 13 in the Nursery School Green Room. All are welcome to observe and comment.
