Outings

November 7: Puppet Theater and Service
We had two parts to our outing: a puppet show and then a service project.

First, three families attended Bob Kramer’s Marionnette’s to see a puppet show. Before the show, though, Bob’s partner Dug gave us a fun and deep explanation of the different types of puppets and how they make the bodies for their marionnettes.

After the puppet show, we went to Ms. Pepper’s parents’ condo and were joined by four other families. There, we bagged up winter care kits for the homeless of St. Louis. The bags will be distributed through Winter Outreach, and the contents (granola bars, pretzels, meat, chap stick, cough drops, facial tissues, etc.) were donated by the members of the Ethical Society and others.

We put together about 120 bags, and we will put together more bags on Sunday, November 22 at the Ethical Society.

Thanks to the Peppers for letting us use their condo, to Mel Johnson for organizing the service project, and to Stacey East for organizing so many of the donations.

Some photos are available on Facebook.

December 12: Year-End Celebration
Instead of an outing in December, we will have a End-of-Year celebration in the Becker Room at the Ethical Society at 2 pm on the 12th. We will have light snacks and cake, hand out badges, and celebrate another successful year.

There are more details in the flyer.

General Meetings

November 22
We will work with the Ethical Society and SEEK to contribute to a day of community service. Navigators will provide two options for all ES members to participate in. We will be continuing our Winter Outreach Project by finishing the assembly of necessities for those in need. We will also expand our service to help the Society by doing some clean up on the Society grounds (trail maintenance, weed removal, auditorium clean up).

There are more details in the flyer.

Organization

November Council Meeting
