March 26: Religious Community
To learn about religious traditions in our community, we will visit two very different congregations in St. Louis. First, at 10am, we will visit the Krishna Balaram Temple to learn about Hare Krishna theology and culture from a member. After that, we will visit the nearby Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis (the New Cathedral). We will learn about the art and theology of Catholicism from Ethical Society member Bob Heck.
Please see the attached flyer for more details.
April: Camping with Caves
We have tentative plans to go camping near the end of the month. We are scouting nearby locations that have caving options (one option will be Pere Marquette SP).
This month, we are learning about religions in our community, including a visit next weekend to a Hare Krishna temple and the Catholic Basilica.
For our General Meeting, we met with Kate Lovelady, Leader of the Ethical Society of St. Louis, and Roy Overmann, a grandfather who explains Humanism and Atheism to students at local schools, to learn about our community, the Ethical Society of St. Louis.
We discussed how the Navigators and Ethical Humanists share similar values. Spring break and snow kept our group very small.
Some pictures are available on Facebook.
April Council Meeting
Our next Council meeting is scheduled for 9:30 am on April 10 in the Nursery School Green Room. All are welcome to observe and comment.
