Organization
June Council Meeting
We were going to meet this morning, but too many of us had conflicts. We will meet Wednesday evening instead. Please email for details if you want to observe and/or comment.
The evening of Wednesday, June 15, three members of the Council met via video conference:
Kyle Crawford (Co-Leader), Lance Finney (Communication), and Andy Ford (Co-Leader).
The meeting was mostly focused on the details of upcoming meetings and outings. We discussed the following topics:
- June Outing – Plans are in place, and 5 families have RSVP’d so far. Ford will work on food for the weekend this week.
- June General Meeting – Ford will give a lesson on climbing equipment and techniques on Sunday, June 19.
- July Outing – We have tentative ideas for floating, spelunking, and Olympics-themed activities at Meramec State Park the weekend of July 29-31.
- July General Meeting – We will likely either discuss the Olympics or Brazilian culture in preparation for the Rio Olympics in August.
- CampQuest – We have discussed sending Navigators to CampQuest in past years, but it hasn’t happened. We learned that the Ethical Society Mid-Rivers had children attend CampQuest this year; perhaps we could learn more about it from them.
- AEU Annual Assembly – We will have a table at the conference to advertise Navigators USA to other Ethical Societies. Finney will take responsibility for the table.
- August – We have tentative plans for a pool party and a service project in August, but the leaders involved in those were not presentat this meeting.
- Solar Eclipse – A total Solar Eclipse will occur across the country on Monday, August 21, 2017, with a peak of totality near Carbondale, IL. We proposed planning ahead to have a camping session that would cover the that date in the path of totality. We might work with other Chapters.
July Council Meeting
Our next Council meeting is scheduled for 9:30 am on July 10 in the Nursery School Green Room. All are welcome to observe and comment.
