Christian humanism in Scandinavia

Fascinating article in Sunday’s Times about religion in Scandinavia. Basically, Christianity in Denmark and Sweden has become purely cultural and ethical, meaning that people enjoy the rituals and holidays and take basic moral messages from Christianity, but they don’t believe in any of the supernatural aspects of Christianity anymore. They just don’t think that way about life. Christian humanism, I guess you could call it. I wonder if that’s the way American religion will eventually develop, rather than an outright rejection of Christianity.
